Canon update App from Outer Divide
Jun. 18th, 2015 08:03 pmCharacter: Piper Halliwell
Canon: Charmed
New canon point: "It's a Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad World (Part 2)", Charmed season 6 x 23, after she gives birth to infant Chris, after adult Chris dies.
Additional history:
As season 4 goes on, Piper becomes more comfortable with her role as the eldest sister and learns to take charge. In doing so she becomes more accepting of Paige. During the second half of the season, they fight Phoebe’s boyfriend Cole, who has returned as the Source of all evil, impregnated Phoebe who goes to rule beside her as his Queen. They kick Cole's butt and save Phoebe.
In Season 5, Piper becomes pregnant with her first child, Wyatt. During the pregnant Wyatt manifests his powers from within the womb, making her own unstable. Wyatt even once decides that instead of Mommy blowing up demons, it would be much better to have flowers or fireworks fall from the sky. Piper also becomes a little more testy and foolhardy, realizing that Wyatt is manifesting a shield to protect her during the pregnancy, which makes her basically invincible, while her husband Leo and her sisters try and make her realize she cant tap into the baby’s powers whenever she wants and she should take it easy. Near the end of the season she gives birth to Wyatt, which culminates in demons try to steal the baby and kill her. In the last few episodes of the season, Baby Wyatt turns out to be a real demon magnet. Every bad guy comes out of the woodwork for the next few seasons to kill or capture him and turn him evil.
Then we meet Chris Perry, who is actually Chris Perry Halliwell, Piper’s second son who traveled back from the future to save Wyatt from becoming an evil megalomaniac who rules the world. But, ¾ of the season is spent having Piper not trust him. They fight demons that Chris sends them after, hoping to preemptively kill whatever turns Wyatt evil in the future. Oh, and Leo gets promoted and becomes an Elder, which causes all sorts of marital problems for Piper.
Piper eventually gets pregnant with Chris in the nick of time, just as adult Chris is starting to disappear, having never been conceived. She's worried because, unlike her pregnancy with Wyatt, Chris has no shield to protect her. (This gives Chris a massive inferiority complex to his big brother). They go after more demons, while Piper tries to cope with parenting a magical child, practically single-handedly due to Leo's duties.
While Piper is in the midst of giving birth to Chris, adult Chris dies saving baby Wyatt from another Elder, who was convinced the baby was too powerful and needed to be destroyed. Canon update ends at the end of the episode, where Piper has just been given an emergency C-section, hemorrhaging and nearly dying in surgery. Both Piper and Baby!Chris are saved, but Adult!Chris has died.
Please note any major changes to personality:
Her major fears have changed. Previously, her main fears involved losing a sister, focusing on the death of Prue. However, now having given birth to two sons, her fear involves losing a family member. She is fiercely protective of children, especially since she has spent years tracking down demons and even Elders, whom she thought were on her side, intent on corrupting, kidnapping or killing her child. This fear culminates when Chris, her future son from the, well, future, is killed saving Piper’s eldest son Wyatt from evil. Piper becomes more cynical, pessimistic and jaded. She’s even more intent on keeping her ‘real’ life separate from magic, but coming to the understanding that it may not be possible. She’s still the same underneath, Piper has just been through more.
Piper also becomes more comfortable with her new role as eldest sister.
Please note any changes to the character's powers/abilities:
Piper does gain control over her combustion powers, being able to selectively combust body parts and control it in conjunction with her freezing ability, I would prefer her to still have to work on this for a bit more. It’s one thing to know and remember how to do something, but quite another to put it into practice. At least this way she will have the knowledge gained in the past to have more of an idea how to control her powers. Oh, and she becomes the Lady of the Lake and can call Excalibur. But since the sword is currently in her attic, I don’t foresee this being an issue. Also, since she is the Lady of the Lake and not the true wielder of Excalibur, it will corrupt her if she uses it for too long. She also develops high magic resistance/immunity while wielding it(again, not a problem since there is no Excalibur here). As the Lady of the Lake, she is meant to pass it along--in the Charmed universe, she must pass it onto her eldest son, Wyatt.
